All the pros and cons of Dubai Rashid Cruise Port

Today I want to share my opinion about my visit to Rashid cruise port. To be more precise, we will talk about Terminal 3, where we boarded the ship MSC World Europe. I initially faced the task of how to get to the place? After studying information on the Internet, I realised that we would take a taxi to the port for the first time. Since our hotel was in Deira, it was inexpensive for us.
Afterwards we went to the city on foot or by transfer.

When we got out of the car, port staff immediately took our suitcases from us, brought them to the place where they put luggage tags, loaded them into trolleys and then we saw the suitcases near our cabin. Conveniently, we walked lightly into the harbour building.
Inside everything is logistically simple and clear. There are signs everywhere and staff ready to help if needed.
First we pass counters with excursion bureaus, finding MSC signs.

Registration was quick. There was no queue. There are a lot of staff, some of them make and fill out the form, others find your already ready cruise card. Then you are photographed, and that’s the end of the check-in process. We pass the control, where they scan your hand luggage for prohibited items. All actions remind registration at the airport.

Port Rashid is quite spacious. There are several souvenir shops, currency exchange, excursion bureaus, and a luggage hall where suitcases from the liner are delivered after the end of the cruise.

A nice bonus is free wi-fi. For correspondence in messengers it is enough, but to send photos and video is problematic.
A little bit about how to get out in the city from the port.

The simplest is a taxi, but also the most expensive. Firstly, when you land, you are charged 25 dirhams for landing, the rest is on the meter. Secondly, there is a mafia of taxi drivers who do not want to switch on the meter and call exorbitant fare, and in euros or dollars.
But thanks to this we learnt how to walk to the metro. If there is no exhausting heat it is not a problem. The road to the metro is flat, tarmac everywhere and a beautiful view along the Creek River. The distance is about 2.5 kilometres.

Another way to get out into the city is by shuttles to the shops. Exit the building, the port, turn right and after 50 metres we see a car park with buses.
In our sailing period there were two transfers to Dubai Mall and Mercato Mall.

Here next to the schedule of buses.
A little further parking Big Bus Dubai, the cost on such excursion buses 60 dollars for the day. Expensive, however.
Summing up, I would like to note that Rashid port made a pleasant impression. Comfortable, with everything you need for a cruise passenger.
