Almost every day we walked along the promenade of Dubai Marina, one day we decided to take a ride on the Dubai Ferry, which is a type of Dubai water transport. The pier is located in close proximity to Dubai Marina Mall (entrance to the Mall near the building Pier 7 – 7 storey complex of 7 restaurants of different cuisines).
Tickets for the ferry should be bought at the kiosk in the photo below, which is also the pier. We had a ride on the FR4 route – from Dubai Marina Mall station, the ferry travels to Palm Jumeirah Island and Atlantis The Palm resort, then turns round and sails in the opposite direction. We didn’t want to go on a long walk (I sometimes get seasick, so we didn’t risk it+ we had a trip planned in the afternoon to somewhere else) – so we decided to take the shortest FR4 route.
The map at the pier has all variants of routes, you can study in detail and choose the most suitable one. And this is a view of the pier from another angle, namely from the terrace of the food court at Dubai Marina Mall, with the docked Dubai Ferry just visible in the distance. The view from the pier by the water, the ferry has just pulled up and is turning around to dock.
The ferry is already on the quay and boarding is taking place.
We had a session for 11.30.
The saloon was photographed when almost all the passengers had gone aft, initially it was about 3/4 full The skyscraper has a very interesting shape – in the form of a frame, almost like a Dubai Frame.
First of all, I took the photo from the salon (you can see a little bit of dirt on the windows), but if you want to make good photos, it’s better to go straight to the stern, on the right side (as the ferry goes).
I went in and out of the cabin, it is windy and chattering at the stern, especially in the open sea.
On the beach there are various inflatable slides for children, I didn’t see anyone swimming, it was very rare – the sea was +21, just for “walruses”))
By the way, on the ferry and especially on the deck is quite fresh (t air that day was in the region of +24, but cloudy and even a little drizzle).
We were in trousers and sweatshirts – in principle, quite comfortable. At the open sea, the ferry increased speed, rocking slightly.
The Ain Dubai Ferris wheel – there was a great desire to ride it, but it doesn’t work, and it looks like it won’t work anymore.
