Good day everyone! For future travellers and future cruisers I finally got together to write a review about a wonderful cruise in the Persian Gulf on MSC Euribia.
On the question whether it is worth to go on a cruise – an unequivocal answer YES-YES-YES-YES!
A little about the type of holiday and for whom it is intended: my husband and I are the target audience – a married couple, age 44 and 54 years, already at our age noisy companies are not for us, we quietly spend time together, without additional friends. There is an opinion that cruises are very expensive and mainly for pensioners.
On our cruise was the following audience: about 50% – Italians, 10% – Kazakhs/Uzbeks/other CIS countries, 20% – Europeans, Arabs, blacks, etc. Age – the most part – average from 30 to 50 years, a lot of large companies as young age 30-40 years, and 50-60 years, quite a lot of families with children from infants to teenagers.
Now about the travel plan, in which I will tell about the advantages and disadvantages:
- Flew Warsaw-Dubai 1 day before departure with Pobeda airline. I took tickets on aviasails 2 months before departure the cheapest, with luggage 10 kg for 1 person. The flight took 6 hours.
Pitfalls: on Pobeda they do not feed at all, not even a sandwich. They give water in plastic cups, cold and warm. I asked for hot water to brew a tea bag – they refused, they could only pour hot water into my personal glass/thermocup. So take with you sandwiches, fruit, chocolates, chips and so on – do not hesitate.
Also on Pobeda we married couple were seated in different parts of the plane, to sit together we had to pay extra 10$. Also strict control of weight and dimensions of luggage. We had bought luggage for 20$ for 10 kg. and if the suitcase was 11 kg, we would have had to pay extra.
Attention: but when we flew back, the girl in Dubai airport sat us together for FREE, and my suitcase grew in weight by 2 kg, said that IT is OK and missed so. (on line check-in with a choice of seats is only at the initial flight, back already to choose seats is not possible)
- Transfer: from Al Maktoum airport we decided to go by our own way: bus and metro. Thanks to Navimba forum I already knew everything by heart, what number of bus and metro and how to buy a card. We bought 2 silver cards at the airport (each person has their own card). We arrived at 16h and got caught in the traffic jam. As the airport is the initial stop of the bus, we got on seats, but then the bus started circling around the airport for about an hour and collecting service staff (both service and office staff), by the end of the journey the bus was full.
Next we went to the metro and got on an empty carriage as well, but with each station it filled up more and more, people were literally hovering over us. We were worried about getting off at our station. But the people around us were very friendly, telling us where we were going and how many stations were left and when we had to get off, they stepped aside and helped us out of the carriage.
